TIRFENS
(Fenspiride)




COMPOSITION

1 ml of syrup contains

Active substance: fenspiride hydrochloride 2 mg.

Excipients: sucrose, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, sorbitol uncrystallizable solution, lemon flavor, strawberry flavor, propylene glycol, purified water.

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS

- Treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory processes of ENT organs and respiratory tract (otitis, sinusitis, rhinitis, rhinopharyngitis, tracheitis, rhinotracheobronchitis, bronchitis).

- As a part of complex therapy of bronchial asthma.

- Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and other respiratory and ENT allergic signs;

- Respiratory signs of measles;

- Respiratory events following measles, whooping cough, influenza (coughing, hoarseness, throat irritation).

CONTRAINDICATIONS.

- Hypersensitivity to fenspiride hydrochloride or other components;

- Pregnancy, lactation;

- Infancy below the age of 2.

ADVERSE EFFECTS

- Cardiovascular effects: rarely – moderate tachycardia, its severity decreases if dosage is decreased.

- Gastrointestinal effects: common – gastrointestinal disturbances, nausea, epigastrium pains; not known – diarrhea, vomiting.

- Nervous system effects: rarely – somnolence; not known – dizziness.

- Skin effects: rarely – erythema, rash, urticaria, angioneurotic edema, fixed pigmented erythema; not known – skin itching.

- Other: not known – asthenia, increased fatigue.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Tirfens is orally administered before the meals, the bottle should be stirred up before the administration.

Adults and adolescents: 20-30 ml of syrup, administered 2-3 times daily.

Children over 2 years older and with body mass exceeding 10 kg: 10-20 ml of syrup 2-3 times daily.

Children over 2 years older and with body mass below 10 kg: 5-10 ml of syrup 2-3 times daily.

The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor and depends on therapeutic indications and the course of disease.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

The interaction of fenspiride and other drugs has not been established. But taking into consideration antihistamine action of fenspiride, the interaction with the following agents may be expected:

- Barbiturates;

- Other antihistamine, analgesic, narcotic substances, sedative agents, MAO inhibitors, and alcohol.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

Tirfens is contraindicated during pregnancy. If administration of Tirfens during lactation is required, breastfeeding should be withdrawn.

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM

Oral syrup in a 150 ml yellow glass bottle with screwing plastic cap. 1 bottle with a 15 ml measuring cup

and a leaflet in a carton box.
