Panivit (Effervescent Tablet) (Paracetamol/Ascorbic acid)




COMPOSITION

Each tablet contains:
Paracetamol 500 mg
Ascorbic acid 200 mg

THERAPEUTIC INDICATION

Pain of different origin, fever in catarrhal and other infectious and inflammatory diseases.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to paracetamol. Severe renal and/or hepatic dysfunction, deficiency of enzyme glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase, deficiency of enzyme glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase, urolithiasis, if a dose of vitamin C is over 1 g/daily.

PRECAUTIONS

Administration of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended. It should be applied with cautioun in renal and hepatic diseases. Alcohol is not recommended during therapy.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

A tablet is dissolved in a glass of water of room temperature before administration. 1-2 tablets every 4 hours, but not more than 8 tablets daily is prescribed for adults. 0.5-1 tablet 4 times daily with not less than 4-hour dosage interval (the maximum daily dose is 4 tablets) is prescribed for children at the age of 8-15 years old. The dosage interval should be not more than 8 hours in severe renal insufficiency. The duration of treatment is not more than 3 days.
When sufficient therapeutic effect does not occur, fever is over 3 days of therapy and new symptoms appear, it may be more serious disease, in this case contact a doctor.

ADVERSE EFFECTS

Effects from CNS: drowsiness, sleep disturbances, nervous hyperexcitability (especially in children).
Effects from GIT: pain in epigastria, nausea, vomiting. Hepatotoxic effect may appear in when the drug has been co-administered with alcohol for a long time (hepatic impairment).
Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, and angioedema.
Effects from hematosis system: anemia, thrombocytopenia.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Do not administer concomitantly with other agents containing paracetamol and ascorbic acid.
The concomitant use with barbiturates, anticonvulsants, rifampicine increases the risk of hepatotoxic action.

MANUFACTURED FORM

12 tablets are in a polypropylene bottle closed with silica gel stopper. 1 bottle is in a box with an insert.
