COMPOSITION

1 capsule contains:

Active substance: thiocolchicoside 4 mg or 8 mg

Excipients: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, magnesium stearate.

Capsule composition: titanium dioxide, gelatin.

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS

Muscomed is indicated for spastic pain relief in:

- Degenerative disc diseases (dorsalgia, lumbalgia);

- Traumatological and neurological diseases accompanied by muscle spasm.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

- Hypersensitivity to any component of Muscomed;

- Muscular hypotony;

- Mild paralysis;

- Pregnancy;

- Lactation;

- Children under age of 16.

ADVERSE EFFECTS

Rarely: rash, edema, allergic and pseudoallergic reactions (hypersensitivity vasculitis), gastralgia, diarrhea.

Very rarely : hypotension, irritation, somnolence.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Muscomed is orally administered after meals. Before administration consult a doctor.

The maximum recommended dose is 8-16 mg, divided into 2 intake; treatment duration should be 5-7 days. In case of physiotherapy procedures, the period of muscle relaxation is 1-2 hours following the intake of Muscomed.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

There is no data regarding drug interactions. But it is recommended to exercise cautions during concomitant administration with other neuromuscular relaxants.

Increase in neuromuscular relaxation and CNS suppression, hypotony may occur in case of concomitant administration with CNS depressant drugs, alcohol, antihypertensive agents, curare-like drugs.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

Muscomed is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.

MANUFACTURED FORM

Hard gelatin capsules.

10 capsules in a blister.

1 or 2 blisters with a leaflet in a carton box.
