Yodofol (Tablet) (Potassium iodide / Folic acid)

COMPOSITION
Each tablet contains: potassium iodide 200 µg,
that corresponds to 150 µg of iodine, folic acid 400 µg.
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
- Prophylaxis and iodine and folic acid deficit
replacement in women during pregnancy planning and during pregnancy and
lactation;
- Prophylaxis of antenatal maldevelopment of nervous system, extremities, heart;
- Prophylaxis of growth impairments and pubescence in adolescents;
- Chronic tiredness state, memory impairment;
- Peripheric neuropathy;
- Prophylaxes against relapses after therapeutic treatment of iodine-deficit
related wen.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Hypersensibilty to the preparation components;
- Hypertherios.
ADVERSE EFFECTS
Allergic reactions to the components of
preparation can occur.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
1 tablet of Yodofol per day is taken during meal
or after meal, washing down with sufficient quantity of water.
The duration of treatment course is determined by doctor.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
To avoid the use of Yodofol with analgetics,
anticonvulsive preparations, antacids, colestyramin, sulfanilamides,
antibiotics, cytostatics, as they reduce folic acid assimilation.
It is possible the development of hyperpotassemia at co-administration of
Yodofol with potassium-saving diuretics.
The co-administration of Yodofol and lithium preparations favors the development
of wen and hypothyreose.
